Beyond the basic Intranet home page are internal departments like IT, HR, Marketing and others. SharePoint Team sites or Microsoft Teams is great for peer to peer staff collaboration, but does nothing for employee self-service. From the Home Page of the Department, staff members can see department communications and calendar, access share documents and files, search a knowledge base and manage service requests. Activities and work can be tracked through a shared task list or use Planner as part of the Staff Team or Group
Departments can also manage their own content (news, announcement, events, etc) using a content manager dashboard and choose to promote the content to the Intranet Home page.
